The Fault in our Stars

Finished reading the book "The Fault in our Stars" and have to say how amazing it is. I just loved every sentence of it. Knew Nisha's suggestion on books would be good. I was done with the book in a day and also watched the movie online right after reading. So it was double the awesomeness on the weekend for me.

This book was published in 2012, written by John Green. I highly recommend this to everyone. The language and the words are so simple. Every chapter made me laugh and cry at the same time. We laugh and cry with Hazel Grace in the book. Its just so awesome. Obviously the movie has missed out on lot of things form the book. Its really better for anyone to read the book first and then watch the movie. I guess this works for all the books made into movies.

I have no idea which book to choose now to read after this one. Really thinking and kinda lost. Any suggestions would be great. Looking forward to read of John Green's books. So might pick up another in a day or two.

Past Life Regression

This past weekend has been all about finding more about my inner self, what is it that's making me going through lot of tough times in life, what do i need in my future and lot many things that can't be expressed in words by me. Its all just the feeling and thinking i guess at some point.

Thanks to my sister and brother-in-law who suggested this Past Life Regression two day session by Dr. Newton Kondaveti and his wife Dr. Lakshmi. To be very frank, I have absolutely no interest in all this. But i went ahead and attended Two-day Workshop on 'Past-Life-Regression & Spiritual Science'. I went there with no expectations whatsoever. Maybe this is the reason i found it a bit interesting and it kinda worked for me. Of course it din't give me answers to most of my questions which were formed during the sessions. But i met so many wonderful people and really think this was the part which i liked the most. There were many group activities which were fun and simple. Lot of meditation was done. It was my first try and so could not concentrate or my logical mind didn't let
me go deep into it. Maybe this is the reason i could not get the most out of the workshop.

My logical mind told me several times that all that's coming to my mind while meditating was just me assuming or making up stories only 'cos i want to have an experience. But there were also others like me who felt the same. So i felt better. But there were also people who believed what images they saw in their mind during meditation was real and it had a connection to their present life. Now this is where it freaked me up a bit. I did see lot of images of myself not being the way i am right now. So what was it? Just me assuming or it does have a connection to my present life? Answer was to meditate as much as possible everyday and reach a place within myself where it feels a true connection to everything i am going through.

One of my main area to concentrate coming from this workshop is definitely managing my anger and frustration better. I have been working out everyday for about 40 minutes. This is helping me stay fit in body. So is Meditation the working out tool for the Mind? I sure want to find this out. Its just that making time to meditate is what i need to think about and do it.

If anyone wants to know more about what I'm talking about, Please check the link :

The Cuckoo's Calling

I finished reading "The Cuckoo's Calling" last night. The book was published in 2013, a crime fiction by J. K. Rowling under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith.

Its about a supermodel who fell down to death from her balcony. Everyone thinks its suicide and forgets about it. But the model's brother hires a private investigator to check on it as he thinks someone might have murdered his sister. Its a pretty OK book actually. I had somehow expected lot more from this one.

Just when i was thinking about which book to choose next, My best friend Nisha sent me a message about the book "The Fault in Our Stars" by John Green. She's highly recommended this and has also asked me to read the book first and then watch the movie as well. She's the one who got me into reading books almost ten years back. So her suggestion on books are really worth it. She asked me to read "Shantaram" and i still feel its one of the best books to have been read.

Just got the book in hand. So very excited. Looking forward to reading tonight.!!

PS : This was my tenth book in the Book Challenge..!! Yipee..

Five Tracks - Arijit Singh

This week's Five tracks are gonna be songs of Arijit Singh. I just love his voice. All those numbers sung by him are too good. So here are my five most liked songs of him.

First one's from the movie "Gunday" called Jiya. Its just so beautiful. Even the video is great. Really liked Arijit's voice in this and the actors have done a good job too.

Second song is from the movie "Ram Leela" called Lal Ishq. Anyone who's heard this one, will talk about how amazing the song and the video is. Its the last scene in the movie when this song's played full and it brings a tear in your eyes.

Third one's from the movie "Youngistaan" called Sangemarmar. I haven't watched the movie yet but absolutely love this song.

Fourth song's from the movie "Barji" called Phir Le Aye Dil. Oh my god. What can i say about this one? Video, song, actors and the movie is mind blowing. I can listen to this one million times.

Fifth one's from the movie "2 States" called Mast Magan. Very nice song with a cute video.

A Place Called Here - Book

After having read "The Next Always", I really wanted to read something very different and not about Romance. So i chose the book " A Place Called Here" by Cecelia Ahern. First few pages made me realize that I've chosen the right one. Just loved every bit of it. Every chapter had me hooked to it. Didn't want to keep it aside even for few minutes. As I've been bit busy with my cooking, took two days to finish this book. The Story, characters, simple language was too good.

The Heroin is obsessed with finding things. These can be anything at anytime. Can be socks, books, clothes etc. So when her classmate goes missing, her decision is set to find missing people. Its when she goes missing, find a village of missing people with all the missing objects. Its got no location and could not be found or left by own choice.

I got the "P.S. I Love you" gifted and loved it so much that i read it at one go and almost cried at every single page with the main character. Watched the movie

as well but liked the book better. Since then I've been reading Cecelia Ahern's books.

A Place Called Here is very different compared to her other books. Its less focused on Romance and this is what i wanted at this time. I highly recommend this book to everyone.

The Next Always - Book

I have read quite a few books written by Nora Roberts and its all about Romance. So picked up "The Next Always" which was published in 2011.I liked the story and the characters. Simple relationship between the hero and the heroine. What i liked more was the relationship between the hero and his two brothers. But i kinda felt the timings for the heroine's three kids birth didn't fit in right. It was nice to watch the hero and heroine fall in love. It felt real.

Major boring section of the book is when it starts about the renovation and construction of the Inn. Oh god. This really got me turn few pages without reading them. Readers really don't need every bit of a detail about the renovation. Anyways, apart from these, Its a good read.

Do what you like.

When i was in maybe 6th or 7th grade, I had this dream to get into modelling and stuff. You know how girls are at that age right? We thought we could be Barbies and wanted everything to match from hair clip to footwear. So yea, I wanted to be a model who would walk for great designers and all. This obviously changed when i entered college. Since then I've never even watched a fashion show completely.

So at that time, I went on a train trip with my uncle and aunt. Which had me spending around 24 hours in train with them. We started talking to few people who were seated opposite us. One of them asked which school I'm from and things like that. One of the question was what I wanted to be growing up. Obviously my answer was "I want to be a model". As far as i remember they continued asking few more usual questions and ended normally. But then my uncle took me aside for a minute and said something i'll never forget. He said " Next time somebody asks you what your want to be growing up, Just say Doctor or Engineer".

Back then my thinking skills were almost zero. So just agreed with him and came back. I don't know what made me write about this now or even think about that incident. His words had no impact on me 'cos modelling profession was not serious in my mind and heart ever. But what if such words are said to those whose real dream and passion is that particular field? It would crush them. Not completely but there will be an impact on them. What's wrong in following your dream? Don't people in modelling field enjoy it? Aren't they happy? Isn't happiness what matters?

My parents have never forced me to study or follow particular profession. I really appreciate that. I also hope that everyone's given a chance to do what they like in life.

I also wish everyone gives a hand at what they are passionate about 'cos obviously nobody wants to regret when its too late.
